Over 3 lakh people from different walks of life and from various parts of the state culminated in the Maharashtra capital’s Azad Maidan, demanding caste-based reservation in government jobs and educational institutions, loan waiver for farmers, and higher prices for agricultural produce. The Marathas are also seeking justice in a rape case involving a 14-year-old.
The Maratha Kranti Morcha began from BMC’s Jijamati Udyan all the way in south Udyan and the gathering assembled at the Azad Maidan in the city. All schools in south Mumbai were shut.
